I didn’t quite make it up in time to catch the 7:20 am ferry to Liuqiu. I headed over early for the 8:50 a.m. ferry, and caught the 8:00 a.m. express ferry that I didn’t know existed.
While my first thought was to arrange snorkeling early, I decided to go ahead and circumnavigate the island. A single inexpensive ticket provides access to all of the various tourist locations, so I visited them all on the 12 km ride around the island.
I had expected to just automatically find a snorkeling place on my ride around the island. Failing to do so, and some googling later, I rode to Bear Diving. They gladly accepted me as a walk-in, provided a wetsuit and life vest, and off we went.

Afterwards I had plenty of time to stop back in town for shrimp dumplings before heading over to the ferry, again showing up just in time to walk onto the ferry. I walked into Dongang for dinner, wandered back to where the night market had been the night before (not tonight), and returned to the hostel.
Tomorrow I have a short ride to stage myself for the day afterwards. Indeed, it might be so short that I drop my gear at the hostel and wander off for the rest of the day.
